Alrajhi Banquette and Conference Centre

Assigning us to design a banquette and conference centre by AlRajhi First Holding Company was not only a thrilling mission, but also the significance of this task was full of challenges. The project is located in the heart of one of the four major Riyadh City projects launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, to contribute to achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s vision by raising the rating of the city of Riyadh among its counterparts in the world.

From day one, we realized that a project of this magnitude and function must be accompanied by a unique design that will place it in the rank of distinguished projects at the level of Riyadh and the Kingdom. This is what happened through our choice to replicate a classic architectural style, revealing the elegance and prestige of this unique design in terms of architectural formation of spaces and details.

To reflect the factors that govern the project in terms of location and function, we intended to select the classical school of architecture, through size (monumental scale) and architectural details, especially columns, cornices, column bases and capitals, and details of wall openings and doors.

A banquette and conference centre with a built-up area of 40,000 square meters, and two great halls that can accommodate more than 2,000 guests, with a food preparation area of about 6,000 square meters enough to prepare 10,000 meals to serve guests and external catering with 4 conference rooms and royal suites, auxiliary services to support all of the said functions i.e.. administrative offices and storage spaces, all together running simultaneously, increased the creative spark produced by challenges of this kind.

An end product that is recognized by the coherence between multiple functions, operating in harmony and without hindrance is what distinguishes our design philosophy, all this in the form of a less aesthetic counterpart.

The interior architecture is an emulate to the architect’s vision of the project, as it reflected the project’s concept and function, and came out in a royal outfit with all of its details. We covered the floors with black and white marble, in addition to an inhouse custom design carpet, that match the material texture of furniture and fabric. As for the doors, we designed them with royal heights (seven meters) of natural walnut. As for the details of the ceilings and walls, they are classic that respect the design school and sanctify its details and dimensions.
